Castellari Bergaglio is mentioned in Mangia e Bevi in Italia,
with a very complimentary description of the winery’s
work: “in a traditional family-run winery that also uses
advanced technology, Mario Bergaglio, his son Marco and wife
Vanda Castellari supervise every stage of production with scrupulous
care and attention, from harvesting to vinification, in order
to promote not only their own wines but the entire heritage
of Gavi, with all its unquestionable historical and cultural
potential”.
A good review from Gambero Rosso Italian
Wines in which the Gavi Pilin 2000 proves itself again in the
following comment: “the palate only confirms the high
standard of quality already recorded, with an even more complex
flavour”. Gavi Pilin 2000 also takes the lead in the Guida ai Vini Buoni d’Italia which awards it four stars. |

The Gavi Rovereto Vigna Vecchia receives a good
review in the Guida ai Migliori Vini d’Italia and
is described as follows: “nicely
complex aromatic flavour in which the 20-day
fermentation at 18°-20° contributes
towards the best expression ever of this cortese”.
The
quality of the winery’s products
is reiterated in Duemilavini with a
special mention for Castellari Bergaglio’s
wine culture policy, demonstrated this year
in the launch of a Weblog and the new “Gaviteca”.
The Guida dei Vini Italiani makes a particularly
interesting closing observation: “Castellari
Bergaglio’s Gavis continue to stand out
for their richly textured fruit. Plenty of
aromas, dense tallowy texture, fragrant, citrussy,
clearly defined nose. The Gavi Rovereto 2004
is the most powerful of all, with a high score
for pleasant quality”.
Good reviews also
in Vini di Veronelli and Guida al Vino
Quotidiano where
Gavi Rolona is praised for “excellent
performance on the palate” and good value
for money.
The prestigious Guida ai Vini d’Italia
de L’Espresso mentions the winery
again, and the Guida ai Migliori Vini d’Italia
D’Agata & Comparini features
Gavi di Gavi Rovereto 2004 among its “Best
100”. |
