Name: Stefano Sardo
Profession: several: musician,
scriptwriter...
First glass of wine: tasting Moscato
on my fifth birthday (or possibly earlier?).
Most memorable toast: in 1996.
An important record company offered my band, Mambassa, a contract
for a first album. We really celebrated that – believing it
to be the beginning of a glittering career...
Wine: where, how, when: i like
the ritual of an aperitif: a large glass of fragrant white wine or
a nourishing red, or the honeyed giddiness of fizz… With food,
I choose wine according to what I am eating and where I happen to
be. I come from a family of experts but I have never bothered studying
the characteristics of wine. I play it by ear. I enjoy a good wine
but I can’t really say why.
Strangest wine anecdote: one spring
night about ten years ago with Carlo Petrini and the Slow Food gang,
when we spent the whole night drinking wine in one farm after another,
and in the morning, when the sun was high, we ate zabaglione al barbaresco
at the Caffé Converso in Bra.
A wine for special occasions: a good Barbera. Or a good Champagne, why not?
Three adjectives for wine: solemn,
unifying, unavoidable... |
