2006 harvest

We costantly monitored the riping of the cortese grapes.

We began sampling on 30th August and the data confirmed early phenological stages compared to 2005 with analytical parameter similar to 2003 and 2004.

The grapes were generally healthy, with only a few sporadic cases of light sun-burning, mainly due to greater exposure to sunlight.

On the 18th September the harvest began after a short period of almost autumnal rainy weather from 14th – 16th of that month.

During the harvest the weather stabilised until 25th and 26th when it rained again, heavily, although the harvest had by then finished.

To conclude, 2006 is considered to be an excellent year in quality, balanced by quantity.

This is also thanks to the unusually warm weather between 20th August and 20th September, with maximum daytime temperatures of 28-30°C, dropping to 6-8°C at night, without humidity.

The grapes therefore ripened regularly in terms of sugars and preserved their primary aromas.
